Another gift

A Travel Sewing Kit and a Tissue Holder to match..

What an honor to be given this award. A very sweet, creative Nettie gifted me with this "treasure" and I can't even begin to tell you how it makes me feel..I'm flying high with full of smiles..

Now, I'm to pass it on to 8 blogs and trust me, I know so many wonderful caring creative people that it will be a difficult journey to choose. The following is a text which accompanies the award on each blog, needing to be passed on.

"These blogs invest and believe in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers, who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

Now, I will be thinking about this for the next day or two and making my selection soon..Thank you again Nettie for bestowing such an honor..

Emma's Tree

I made this tree for my mom who lives in a trailer during the winter season in Arizona...We always shared a tree at Christmas but alas, with miles apart, I thought making this tree would make us feel together during this season...The pattern is designed by a woman named "Miriam"..I think it's beautiful don't you? Thank you Miriam for such a lovely pattern...

Some Little Christmas Gifts

Just a couple of small extra Christmas gifts..
The doily is crochet for my SIL's new dressing room..I have a couple more to get completed by the next couple of days but they do go pretty fast.

The coasters are so much fun to make...If you are interested in a tutorial for these please check out "Allsorts" Instructions are easy to follow and I think they are quite cute..

Ok, off to bed and tomorrow I plan to finish up a little "Wolf" wall hanging for my brother..He loves wolves.. Hopefully I can get a couple of things worked out...

4th Ornament for the Christmas Ornament Exchange

Here is the 4th ornament of my Christmas Ornament Swap..As you can see they are all similar and yet a bit different. I think they came out pretty nice, hopefully the receiver's will. I've learned a couple new stitches and found out I need better needles for sewing on beads ..I have holes in my fingers (ok, so my grandmother told me to start wearing a thimble some 40 years ago) but I completed my project and feel pretty good. Thank you for all you has made comments on the other three..

A Game of Tag

Pallas, a creative and artistic friend tagged me today, now how cool is that? I recommend checking out her site. Her love of vintage fabrics, buttons, laces and etc. is interesting and her work: Fantastic!

The Tag rules are a simple few so lets get started:

1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules.
3. Tell six quirky yet boring, unspectacular details about yourself.
4. Tag two of your other online art friends.

Six quirky things about me:

1. I still believe in Santa Clause.
2. I love snow!
3. I have a passion for herbs and I love growing them..Already planning out my garden for next summer.
4. I have 1 brother, 3 children and 5 grandchildren
5. I love fabrics, buttons, laces, threads, yarns....
6. My husband, Lee, is my best friend and together we are raising, 1 German Sheppard (Strider), 1 Cocker Spaniel (Lindy) and 2 cats (Tigger and LaBella)..I'm proud to say we are expecting another addition to our home at Christmas. A kitten who will be 7 weeks and her name is "Noel".

Tag You're It - I choose my friend Nancy who started me into this quilting art world and Flischa, a talented fiber artist..

What a surprise I had when I discovered I hadn't made any blog entries since October and yet I have made some accomplishments. Guess I better make sure to take pictures asap before I send them off from here on end.

I am in a Christmas Ornament Swap and for weeks I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do..Then I saw a wonderful tutorial on using CD's..They weren't Christmas ornaments but I knew immediately it was perfect..So, I have now recycled 8 cd's that were of no value, and along with learning some Crazy Quilting Stitches, have made my ornaments. They are far from perfect and with only the limited amount of supplies I had on hand, I think, all in all, they came out pretty good...

Now, I'm back to the sewing machine..
